Bishops: Diocesan College - Prep Post
FRIDAY 29 September 2017
Dear Parents

This morning we received the extremely sad news that Patrick Gaertner, father of Fabian in Grade 6, died in a helicopter accident yesterday afternoon. We extend our deepest sympathy to Mari, Fabian, their family and friends. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with their tragic loss.

Thank you to you all for your support this term. I mentioned the Cabaret last week but you do support the school and your boys’ education in so many ways: attending matches, music concerts, providing lifts for outings and fixtures, flowers for the foyer every week and support for your sons’ teachers.

Our Music Department ends the term on a very high note with the results of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music exams. 89 boys played exams and results ranged from 74% to 95%, with 59% of the results being distinctions, 130/150 (87%). The world ABRSM average is 116/150 (77%) and the Bishops Prep average is 130/150 (87%); a truly remarkable achievement. Well done to our boys! (See further information below.)

I wish you safe travels and all our Jewish families well for Yom Kippur.

God Bless.

Kind regards

TAKE Note
Apologies

We had a list of thank-you's on each table at the Staff Cabaret but erroneously omitted a thank-you to the Grade 4 parents who donated the white vests that were worn by our budding ballerinas in Swan Lake. Our apologies for this! Your kind donation was very much appreciated! The vests will be washed and donated to people in need.
Kids Who Can

This course is recommended by Anne McDonald as an excellent tool for addressing coping skills for children. Please see our Parent Communication page here for information or visit their website here.
