FRIDAY 3 March 2017

Dear Parents

Ash Wednesday

We began the season of Lent with our Ash Wednesday Family Service this week, this year joined by the Grade 1 and 2 boys. Father Terry led a very beautiful service in which he encouraged all of us to use the time of Lent to draw closer to God and think about how we are towards others and what we can do for others. Mr Woolls has themed the next few weeks, “Doing Lent Generously” (see https://40acts.org.uk/).

Each day a different act of kindness or generous idea goes up on the noticeboard for us to try to achieve. Here are the ones for the weekend:

Friday: Send a letter, card or picture to an adult who is important to you.
Saturday: Be the first to say sorry to somebody.
Sunday: Go the whole day without arguing.

Students Council

The 2017 Students’ Council has been elected. Any Grade 7 interested in serving on the Council does a presentation to the Grade 6s and 7s on what he wants to contribute as a member. Boys then vote and the 8 with the most votes are elected and they are joined by the Head Boy. They meet with me once a week and we discuss issues pertinent to them and I also raise issues with them for discussion. Please see the Council names below.

Have a good weekend.

Kind regards

GREG BROWN
HEADMASTER
