Bishops has a very long history of playing rugby (since 1869) and, with cricket, is one of the oldest sports at the school with a strong and passionate culture.

Rugby is a winter sport played during Terms 2 & 3 (April - September). It is a very popular sport with multiple teams being represented in each age group. The school has 6 rugby fields and coaching is of a high standard with matches played every Saturday morning.

The coaching style encourages a love for the game through enjoyment and responsible involvement as well as sportsmanship with integrity, self-discipline and utmost respect for opponents and officials.
