Bishops: Diocesan College - Prep Post
FRIDAY 12 May 2017
Dear Parents

I am pleased to be able to report that Christian Rohrer, the College Head Boy, had the tumour on top of his fibula successfully removed last week and has started his third round of chemotherapy. He is amazingly positive and determined and a real inspiration to his peers. Please do keep Christian and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

We sent home brochures on the 175 Campaign earlier this term. If you have not yet received yours, please do check with your son – search his bag, etc. If you have no luck there, please contact the office and we will get one to you. It gives a succinct view of the school’s plans around development for the next seven years and we are hoping for maximum support from our community. The Bishops Trust will also send out an update on progress on the campaign shortly.

Wishing you a good weekend.

Kind regards

Blanket Outreach

With winter arriving, now is the time to get those knittting needles busy. If you would like to knit squares, we recommend you cast on 30 stitches and use double knit wool. The squares will be sewn together by willing volunteers to make up blankets for the needy.

Hotel Boarding

Please be reminded that the Prep Boarding House is available as a "Hotel" facility for your sons should you require it on a temporary basis while you are away travelling. Please contact Erica Leppan on for further details.
Dulwich Exchange
Our boys, along with Mr Mitchell and Mrs Sheard are due to arrive home today after a wonderful two weeks packed with fun and learning. We look forward to hearing more about their adventures when they return to school on Monday.
Skeeles 7s Festival
Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the Skeeles 7s Rugby Festival last Friday, despite the cold, wet conditions. All the players from different schools participated enthusiastically in the festivities and camaraderie on the day.
3 raffle prizes were on sale during the course of the day. The winners are: Bulelwa Maki, Craig Brorson & Wayne Voigt. They have been notified telephonically.
Boarding Fun

Once a term, the boarders get to choose what special meal they want for supper. This term, they chose KFC, and our caterers pulled out all the stops to produce "Origin Fried Chicken", with Colonel Greg Shuttleworth ruling the roost! See more photos here.

Civvies Day Clothing Collection

Many thanks for the generous donations of clothing we received this morning and for the help received in sorting it all! The items will be delivered to the Imizamo Yethu fire victims and will be very much appreciated with winter approaching.
