Bishops: Diocesan College - Prep Post
FRIDAY 2 June 2017
Dear Parents

We had a very good iPad Feedback meeting earlier this week with a number of teachers demonstrating the varied uses of iPads and technology in a number of subjects and lessons. Thank you to all of you who attended and were also able to give us feedback. One new development we showed parents was a Homework site which teachers will fill in on a daily/weekly basis. It will be accurate and up to date. We have resisted this for a long time, wanting boys to take responsibility for writing down their homework, but in the light of boys being taught in different sets, which makes it difficult for form teachers to check properly and boys going out of the Ensemble/Homework period and not having time to record all homework, we have introduced a site that boys and parents can access easily. Boys still have to take responsibility for following instructions accurately, taking the correct books home and doing their homework.

Here are the directions to the HOMEWORK SITE.

From the Prep Intranet:

In myBishopsLife:

We are consolidating all information for parents such as the school’s Information Booklet, Medical Claim Forms, Scholars’ Accident Fund and so on into one place on myBishopsLife. This will be further populated over time.

Please log into your son’s myBishopsLife profile to access this information. For your convenience, there is also a quick link to the Prep Intranet on this page.

Rugby will be played at Langa Stadium tomorrow. Here are the directions
We will be playing the Busy Bees Rugby Football Club, a very old Club that was started originally in District Six in the 1920s. Our C teams will play Rondebosch Boys’ Prep, also at the Langa Stadium. Our Bishops rugby outreach programme, VUSA, is working with Busy Bees and a number of boys are involved in both. Sport has a wonderful way of bringing people together from different communities and I hope it will be a great morning for all.
For more information about VUSA go to their website

Kind regards
