Dear Parents

This term Father Terry and our Youth Pastor, Justin Woolls, have been working through the Beatitudes at Monday and Friday assemblies.  They have taken the Beatitudes from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-12) and placed them in simple terms, bringing them alive in a myriad of ways.  Last week the whole school, staff and boys were dancing to “Honey, I’m Good” by Andy Grammer, as an expression of joy.

The Beatitudes are at once both simple and profound and would no doubt resonate with most religions in the world.  Justin prepared a chart that in a very pithy way encapsulates the essence of these words of guidance for a rich and fulfilling life.  The chart is up in each classroom . (Click here)

I think the theme has been illuminating for us all and a reminder of the wisdom of this original sermon that continues to speak to us today.  These underscore the values that we as a school try to live and to teach the boys to live by, simple and difficult as they are.  Maybe the key words on the chart are “help me to”; help me to be the person Jesus describes.

Kind regards
