Coding Club

 

A coding club has recently been introduced. Coding is essentially telling a computer, app, phone or website what you want it to do. The boys learn to write out instructions that are carried out by Avatars and other Sprites on the screen. At the Grade Four level, they focus on understanding the language of coding and practically make Avatars do certain things. They also create simple games and gain an understanding of what coding is. The coding club is the first step on their coding journey.

 

Young Engineers Club

 

The Young Engineers Club provides an opportunity for boys, in grade 6 and 7, to take on more challenging projects than might be possible in the normal design and technology classes. Electronics, steam powered turbines and robotic coding are always a fun way to extend the boys application and understanding. The club happens after sport once a week for an hour.
